STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

coat & boots (similar): primark
jumper: matalan
dress (worn as skirt): zara (similar)

Firstly I'd like to address the massive ladder in my tights, I'm definitely not tumblr enough to wear laddered tights on purpose, but what can I say, the thorns had it out for me, and apparently a skirt, tights and heeled boots isn't appropriate for a walk through the woods, (or you end up looking like this) who knew? I was planning to do a few NYE posts, but there has been a plethora of amazing posts on my Bloglovin' feed over the past week, and to be honest I didn't know that NYE was tomorrow until a few hours ago (I thought it was on Thursday) which messed up all of my plans, I don't even have an outfit yet, STRESS. Let's hope I leave this clueless me in 2014.

*shoutout to my ten year old sis, Tami, for taking my blog pictures recently, you the real mvp*

Let me know in the comments what your plans are for NYE and if your have any resolutions this year! Thanks for all the lovely comments recently, hope you've had a fab year and don't forget to make sure you follow!

DIY CHUNKY 'SCARF'

'scarf': formally an ikea blanket
shirt, leather jacket, coat (similar): matalan
jeans: topshop
shoes: principles @ debenhams (similar)

RIP to the throw you used to be... or a blanket I don't really know. Ok I know I'm not funny, but a few hours ago this was a blanket, recently I've been wanting a really chunky long scarf and in the midst of it being really cold, not owning one and not wanting to buy one online for £20 I made this in less than five minutes. I cut it in half, quickly sewed the half ends together to give it extra length and voila, scarf. Admittedly I'm probably still going to end up buying one online because I do still really want a few massive scarves and they will probably be one of the most practical garments in my wardrobe, Primark are doing one for £6 aswell! I started off quite optimistically in just a leather jacket but I had to throw on a coat eventually, and I  literally mean throw on, bloggers seem to not know what arm holes are.

Let me know if you have gotten into the massive scarf trend in the comments below, thanks for reading and make sure to follow

5 BOXING DAY SALE SHOPPING TIPS

Does the fact that I've posted nothing Christmassy and the first thing I do post is about Boxing Day, indicate my sheer lack of festiveness? Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating, I am not that un-festive I am just far too excited for Boxing Day sales (sighhh I feel like this intro is the confessions of a shopaholic). Luckily here in the UK Boxing Day sales doesn't really get as crazy as Black Friday in the US, because Americans go all out, but it can be hectic. So here are a few quick tips on how to maximise the biggest sale day of the year!

1) Location, location, location!
I can't stress this enough but unless you enjoy being packed in a shopping centre with tens of thousands of other shoppers think carefully about where you want to shop! I'm sure many of you have seen that picture of Westfield Stratford Boxing Day 2013 (and all the witty tweets that went along with it) and if not I am not lying, this picture is for real. I'm not going to lie, I was considering going there on Friday about 15 minutes ago but this just reminded me why I will not be seen there on Boxing Day!
2) Have a list
...And stick to it! Shops are extremely clever with their big banners, red tags, and humongous signs and often this leads to shopping with out thinking. I am so guilty of this, "It's 50% off, I have one exactly like it, but its 50% off". Know what you're looking for and where to find it, if you pick up a few extra bargains then great, but being in a half an hour refund queue the next week is not fun.

3) Try online
Why leave the house when you can grab all the discounts in the comfort of your own home eh? Check if the items you want are already discounted online if you know the discounts will be similar. Many shops starts their online sales a few days before Boxing Day (e.g. Asos and River Island) so the stress might not be necessary.

4) Patience is a virtue
Boxing Day sales mark the start of the January sales, yes there is more sale stock on the 26th but I can assure you if you go a few days later all hope is not lost! Often I have bought an item on the 26th and seen it a couple weeks later reduced even further, trust me when I say this is up there on the list of annoying feelings.

5) Avoid Next like the plague
Can we just have a moment of silence for my friend Aimee Braggs who is working NEXT. BOXING. DAY. (yes, all that emphasis was necssary). Ok so obviously this is a joke but I am still scarred from a time my mum dragged me to the Brent Cross Next one year, it was total anarchy. Next are known in the UK for having the most ridiculous deals on the 26th and with there shops opening at 6am on Friday customers have been known to queue from four o'clock in the morning, they always did say British people enjoyed queuing!

I hope you guys have a lovely day tomorrow (YAY CHRISTMAS) and if you are going shopping on Friday, MAY THE ODD BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR.

LOST IN DRAFTS

top: primark (similar)
jeans: topshop
sunglasses: Greece
shoes: converse

This is definitely the longest I have gone without blogging, between juggling school and simply just not being inspired, as well struggling to get my outfits photographed, all of this has resulted in my four month hiatus (hooray to finding out how to spell this after five solid minutes of googling).Anyway this is an outfit that I found saved in my drafts from Summer and unfortunately the weather nowadays doesn't permit for coatless, crop topped outfits, sighhhh.

What summer trends are you missing? Or are you enjoying all the A/W items atm? Let me know below and make sure to follow!

TRIP TO BRICK LANE

dress (worn as top): zara
skirt: primark (similar)
shoes: converse
lipstick: MAC ruby woo

The other day I visited Brick Lane in the hopes of exploring more of London and having a look at the street art there. This Summer I am definitely going to make more of an effort to visit more of London and to go to different places each time I go. Whenever I go to London I always end up in the same places (Oxford Street and Westfield Stratford I'm looking at you), they are all well and good and definitely satisfy my need to spend but there are so many more places in London that I haven't explored. Hopefully this summer I can. The street art in Brick Lane was amazing, I walked around the streets and couldn't help but stop and snap, including a few outfit shots (apparently there was something really interesting on the floor when these pictures were being taken ahha).

Where are your favourite spots to visit in London? Let me know below and make sure to follow!
