VALENTINE'S DAY LOOK | Pinky Makeup

With Valentine's Day nearing closer and closer, showing how quickly 2014 is going already I thought it would be very appropriate to do a Valentine's Day look. This is in between a tutorial and a 'FOTD' because when it comes to doing my makeup (eyes especially) I just do it, which makes it kind of hard to explain, but then this isn't my face of the day. 

I went for a shimmery pinky/ purple eye with a pink lip rather than red, I often sport a red lip so I decided to switch it up for Valentine's. This is definitely more of an evening look unless you like heavy looks like this during the day.

FACE: Nivea Light Moisturising Day Cream, L'Oreal True Match, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer & Seventeen Shimmer Brick.

BROWS: Seventeen Brows That, concealed with Fit Me Concealer.

LIPS: Rimmel Apocalips (apocaliptic)

EYES: Maybelline Colour Tattoo (pink gold), MUA Poptastic Palette, Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner & Miss Manga Mascara

When I did my eyes I mainly used this palette along with my colour tattoo and a matte black eyeshadow. I used the two pinks and the purple on the left. I used the light pink all over my eyelid and the dark pink on outer section of my eye, the purple went on my crease and I just used a black to darken it up.

NO MAKEUP, MAKEUP LOOK

When it comes to my makeup I tend to never keep it simple, I find myself sporting a smoky eye almost all the time along with an overdramatic wing, it has become the norm- so doing this makeup look is totally different. Some of you may think that this isn't really a 'no makeup' look but for me it really is. It managed to cut a good fifteen minutes off my normal routine, so guess who's a happy bunny (me)! Although I am quite fond of this simple and quick look I can't help but feel a bit empty without my winged liner and/or bright lip... So I caved and added a red lip, which changes the look, if simple just isn't your thing. Please excuse the fact that I obviously do not know what a hair brush is, I look like some kind of cave girl loool.

QUICK, LONG-LASTING RED LIP

Before I start can I just apologise: 1. for my awful lipstick application, 2. for my not-so well kept Stay Pout lipstick and 3. my very forced smile. Aside from that I am one of those people that likes to wear a bright lipstick quite often, regardless of the 'occasion'. Yesterday I had this red lip and when I got home at around 3.57 (precise), well I don't actually know if it was that time I just made that up, but it was just before 4 so it could have been. ANYWAY I got home and I walked past the mirror and my lipstick was still presentable and had barely faded. I kid you not since 8 in the morning. 

Now maybe I'm just getting excited for nothing and all my lipsticks are rubbish but none of mine ever last that long without two, three or four top ups, especially when it's matte. So I thought this revelation was post worthy, considering the sum of these products are under £10 and it took literally no time.

I know there are other ways to make your lipstick last long (lip liner, this stuff and probably some other weird ways) but I just don't have time for lip liner in the morning, my routine is a ridiculous rush. When I did this lip all I did was moisturise my lips, apply Date Night and then Apocalips, after Apocalips dried I went over with Date Night and voilà, a quick, long-lasting red lip. I really hope this wasn't some one-off fluke yeah urrrm that would be awkward.
